I really enjoyed the interaction with the other participants particularly the group task, listening to and hearing their issues was interesting and certainly did provoke thought and discussion. I took a lot from understanding my HPA’s and really tried hard to lessen interruptions and also the time I was spending on email. Clearly identified an area for improvement for myself, I now have more time to plan meetings and delegation of tasks also coaching sessions. The idea of a positive approach to discipline, using good root cause analysis has helped me to deal with costly mistakes and realise that out of every adversity is the seed of an equal or greater opportunity. I am using this with a lot of success to change the mentality within our plant from a ‘who can we blame’ to more of a ‘what can we do’ to make things better approach.

The most enjoyable thing is learning how to make your team members more engaged with you as a manager , and to have confidence that I am implementing structure with a learning environment .This has not only been beneficial for the business , but I can take what I have learned to any company with confidence
