Sharing experiences and day-to-day challenges with employees from other organisations, this helped me appreciate my job and also put some of my concerns into perspective. I found that there were other people struggling with the same things that I do, and I also engaged with people who had a work-life balance that I desired. Building a network within my own organisation, through other participants from my company on this course, it has helped break down departmental silos and I now enjoy a strong working relationship with them. The course gave me the confidence to step away from the jobs that I was good at and gave me the encouragement to strive for tasks that are closer related to management; leadership and planning as opposed to organising and monitoring. I am really appreciative to have the experience to do this course and would recommend it to any manager, especially one new to their role or transitioning into a management role for the first time.

Really enjoyed the group discussion and meeting like minded people from different organisations. I think the connections after the course is finished will continue. I also gained a great deal from developing win-win goals and what my limits are i.e., what I can realistically achieve. It was great to get some positive feedback from my team and see some great results from them as a result of the win-win goals. The SWOT analysis and case study was also a very beneficial tool. It was great to make some new connections within my own organisation as well. My favourite takeaway from the course was learning techniques to help my team members answer their own questions. I’m regularly using the skills learned to help them feel empowered and gain confidence.

I was right and the involvement of all the other departments and the managers to decide out of sequence Operations is tricky. As I said in the beginning that it is an on going process and will be achieved by June.

For me the most enjoyable aspect of this course is being able to connect with other team leaders from different departments. Being able to share each others problems, issues with team members and the strategies used to over come these has been beneficial to myself greatly. I can see a big change in my self. I have changed the way I think. I have changed the way I approach giving feedback to team members and now carry confidence when delegating work. I accomplished both my win win goals. Course: SSTLS
Name: Jovo Bojanovic

the success of this coarse was that probably being one of the youngest in the company to being a T/L I thought that I could change the world in a heart beat. this coarse taught me that no one change/re-invent the wheel over night. we as one team we all must work together and try to achieve the best possible outcome together. this coarse has offered tools such as the day to day and week to week planner which I never thought about when I first became T/L, also the ability to say no and carry out all my tasks that I had planned out for the day and not try and play catch towards the end of the day where it wasn’t possible. and the most important I feel the S.M.A.R.T aspect, that has really helped me in assessing the situation in front of me and then going through and relaying information to my upper management on what is having to be carried out.

Course: SSTLS
Name: Dinesh Sundrababu

This course help me grow up in various areas and taught me some valuable things; # – Meaning of success, measures not by achieving but by the way it progress. # – Setting up Win-Win goals. # – Focus goals importance. # – Smart goal set ups. # – Leadership skills.

Course: SSTLS

Setting Up SMART goals Identifying HPA’s and KPI’s Using a Diary/time management system./written goals-written goals helps to achieve the goal set as it is visual and seeing makes it easier to keep focused on achieving the goal. Written goals produce motivation. This also allows to better time manage as it can be visually monitored which finally gives better management of time and increases production. Using a Imperative/Important list-this allows everyone on the team to know what are imperative tasks for the day and which are be important therefore all team members can work towards the achieving the target by completing the imperative list first, once the imperative is completed then move on to doing the important items and when both the list is completed then only move on to doing other items. I have been able to better manage my personal and professional life. I can spend more time with my family as a result of good time utilisation and delegation at work which enables me to finish my work on time. I have become been able to accomplish a better relationship with my team members and co-workers through improved communication.

Course: SSTLS
Name: Ryland Robinson

A good relationship of the guys on the course, and each of us through all interacting and taking part in discussions, learnt all form each others experiences. Michael has the right personality and attitude for taking this type of course, and I found him very supportive and helpful. He always kept a good communication between himself and the class. Through me introducing the LMA principals not only in work, but my personal life also, I can see where change is necessary and change is good. Through these principles, my team has developed through my leadership, and are helping and contributing to becoming a more efficient team. I am empowering them to achieve greater expectations, and am working with my manger on these values. Various goals have been achieved, through reducing NCR’s at work, and introducing a more lean process. Home life not only have I gained personally, but my family has too. The fact is I now purposely set goals to achieve in life, using LMA as a tool.

Course: SSTLS

I enjoyed the approach of the group running most of the work shops with Michael simply keeping us on track. one of the best things I got out of the course was how to effectively communicate with other people, at the start of the course the relationship between my managers and myself was strained, however through the course I have learnt a lot on how my body language and the way I say things and how I say them has both a positive and negative effect on the way the conversation and relationship are formed, due to this the relationship is a lot healthier.

Course: SSTLS
Name: Quoc Luu

I enjoyed getting involved in the workshop activities: e.g. Case study#1 (O’Neil’s batteries and brakes) and Case study#2 (Zap Sportz) because in those cases I learned how to identify their problems and how to help them to solve their problems. Those two cases look real to me, from there I can solve the problems in my workplace by creating the Win-win Agreement Goals by using S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Tangible). I also used the Discussing Planner and the Important/Imperative checklist for my daily activities. The last and most important point was that my facilitator used a little monkey with both hands to close his eyes. It explained to me that most people always use an excuse to shift their blame to someone else instead of accepting the responsibility and working together to solve the problem (TEAM).

Course: SSTLS

I feel I have gained several new skills, such as the ability to say “NO” to every single task that is handed to me. Another skill I have greatly achieved and now enjoy, is the skill of delegating. This has freed up so much valuable time to allow me to concentrate on more important tasks (HPA’s). I also, feel that I have gained the respect from my other team members. The goals that I have accomplished is the creation of a specific MQE tool box, which contain all the required tools, needed to perform the day to day MQE tasks.
