Name: Darren Scott

The mix of people from other business backgrounds, the issues and situations they have faced, and how they have gone about dealing with it. The LMA team [ Adrian and Paul ] were great to fall back on for advice or help when ever required. The improvement I was able to make in my public speaking through the course from tips and practising situations was great. We were able to make some fantastic achievements with an area of concern in relation to cladding damage, through tools and learnings from the course.

I have started using goals that are easily attainable within the win win format. The workshops were great, they bring together similar issues from different business backgrounds and provide a balance of opinions from different perspectives while being kept on an applicable track by the facilitator.

I have enjoyed working on my listening / people skills and being able to develop new working relationships. Success wise I have now been promoted to manager of the motor home line and have enjoyed the challenge of a new product and 30 new employees to get to know and work with.

I feel this course has opened up a lot of new aspects in work and home life. Simple things like T.E.A.M. makes you think outside the square and use your resources to a higher level. Allocating more time to HPA’s was hard at the start and still is quite challenging with all the day to day needs of our team and lines, but it is always being thought of. Now time spent on HPA’s is greater than before the course so that is a bonus.

The most enjoyable parts of the course were practical activities during the course such as doing the puzzle blind folded and giving negative feedback. Measurable results I’ve had include my leadership abilities, being able to delegate and learning what my high payoff activities are and focusing on them. I accomplished a few focus goals that helped me out in my personal life as well as work life. other achievements I had were completing my teams skill matrix to a very good level and bringing my team from the merging stage into a performing stage and lots of continuous improvement. The course also opened my eyes to a lot of different things that are important when being a leader, things that seem so simple but you never really think about which allowed me to take action and really improve all aspects of my job.

Well, to be honest at the start I didn’t really understand the importance of this course, but after completing a couple of modules I realise how my self change at work and with my family as well, now I’m always looking myself to be above the line , to have a good attitude, something that others can reflect on me “leading by example”. I’ve learned how to set goals, how to have a plan, how to organise myself in the company and in my family as well. The best ideas….awesome….

The biggest thing I took away was the taking the ABOVE THE LINE approach to any obstacles. I have dealt with depression for many years and have felt this to be a truly life changing tool. I am a more contented person than I was before and can recognize the wrong train of thought and quickly tackle the issue head on
