Enjoyed the different perspectives to a number of issues that were impacting on my work. Many aspects of the course will be applicable to my role as a manager, but also when I go back to my old non-management role (especially the time management and HPA stuff). Using the HPA idea, I was able to get the team to start thinking about quality of the service we provide. This should help with the transition between what we currently do and what we will do in the future – it’s not necessarily a decrease in the standard of our service, but a shift towards a different focus. Also, I think I was able to use a number of the motivation and communication strategies to get people starting to work towards this new service method. Gave me some ideas on how to better manage my time, which has made the role much easier.
